1 Minutes of last meeting: These were accepted as a fair record of the meeting

2 Matters arising: Keys have been ordered and are ready for dispatch when payment is receivedPadlock: some people appear to be leaving the gates unlocked

3 Secretary’s report: No report

4 Treasurer’s report / Money: There is £11567.03 in the bank and approx £245 in notes. Concern was raised about whether we would be liable for tax. There was a proposal to purchase a fleet of polo boats. VP believes we could get a fleet (of 7 boats) for around £3k. We would also need Bas and paddles (we already have polo helmets).Boats could be used on the river as well as for matches in pools, but would need to be
thoroughly cleaned – perhaps on trestles as the rowers do.- Verify our tax position - Get quotes for polo fleet and associated equipment

5 TGWA (LG) A snagging list for the buildings has been requested by Terry Robson. He will see whether he can get more progress when he raises it with Guy Wickham. The next level to pursue could be to raise the issues with Sport England, who could seek redress from NCC if they felt the project had not been adequately delivered. 2k has been raised for a leaflet promoting FOTG users (HRC, QEHS, HCC, Golf Club etc.) They need three paragraphs from each club FOTG would like us to contribute to running an event. It was agreed that we could support something in the Summer – perhaps combined with a GoCanoeing event.
Tyne Rivers Trust have arranged for Sealink Offshore to investigate the repairs required to the landing stage.
They will send a diver to examine the structure.
The proposed hydro scheme has won £100k to do an initial study. There will be an open consultation in February (notice to be placed in the Courant). The impact of the scheme on waves below the bridge is unknown. The timescales are for work to be carried out in 2013 (possibly for August completion) – they want to cordon off the car parking areas and underpass for the duration of the project. It was suggested that if we receive no contact from the group beforehand, then members– should attend the consultation and ask awkward questions.

- Prepare words for FOTG leaflet
